Freebie Friday #18: “Riding the Fence” talk outline

Posted on 27 April 2007 by Tim Schmoyer | Trackback link

Freebie Friday: Riding the Fence lessonHere’s a lesson I wrote back in 2000 while interning at a youth group in Pennsylvania. It’s been about that long since I looked at it, so reviewing it again brings back a lot of memories. This talk addresses the issue of riding the fence, trying to flirt with both God and the world at the same time. The idea is that we should want to walk on God’s side of the fence out of love for Him.

There’s several personal illustrations in this talk, so please feel free to edit the lesson and substitute them with your own stories.

Thanks, Tim for all the work on this site. We started our youth program at my church last year, and I find I can never get enough resources.

Anyways… This lesson reminds me of a song by the new Christian singer, Jimmy Needham called “Fence Riders” its really good (the whole album is awesome)

Thanks for the song recommendation, Tim! I’ll have to go check out that song and make a note of it in case I ever use this lesson again. (Nice first name, by the way. ;) )
