– My brother David, his wife, and a friend of theirs, Becca, evacuated from Houston area to my apartment in Dallas last Wednesday night. As usual, we’re having a great time hanging out together. They’ll be here at least until Sunday evening depending on what happens with hurricane Rita and their jobs.
– Ruby Ann continues to be a hot topic of conversation. Yesterday Dan called and I was able to hear her crying!
Apparently she doesn’t like her bed too much, only her chair and Dan and Maggie’s bed.
– I had my mid-year review yesterday at the church. Looks like they’re gonna keep me for a little while longer. ![]()
– I’m pretty much settled into my new apartment. My bedroom is the only thing I really have left to unpack and set up, but I just don’t feel like unpacking anymore, ya know? Guess I’ll just live with the stack of boxes until I start needing stuff that’s in ‘em. Oh, and a cool thing happened again: the Comcast guy set me up with standard cable again even though I only ordered (and am paying for) basic cable. Nice! All 80-something channels for the price of 6 channels!
– I had a good talk with Dana last Sunday but we are both still praying about the direction God may or may not be taking us… I really love eating.
– My church’s all-church retreat is coming up soon. I’ve got a lot of planning to do for that. Looks like I’ll be leading a lot of family-oriented games. That should be fun.
– Some of the kids from the youth group are coming over to my apartment this Sunday afternoon to watch the full-length video of the missions trip. Although the video edit I made that’s on our youth group website is okay, they wanna see ALL the raw un-edited video photage.
– I learned a lot about RSS feeds lately and use them a lot now. Anyone who keeps up with several blog or news sites really needs to use the RSS feeds associated with them.
– I briefly played around the the new iPod Nanos at the mall yesterday. They’re really cool, but who would buy the 2GB versions? For $50 more you can double the capacity and get 4GB.
– That’s enough for now. I have to go remove more viruses from an employee’s computer here at work. As much as people hate viruses, it’s job security for people like me.
